Development demonstrations showing the fundamental principles of successful application development with speech and language technology. This course is a prerequisite for the other application development courses.
- Personal Secretary Service
Develop a system providing all the personal assistant services of a PDA or an advanced cell phone as an automated service accessible through the same Speech User Interface from any telephone or internet connection. Provide partial automation of additional services that might be provided by a human personal assistant.
- Meeting Facilitator
Provide services to make meetings more efficient and effective. The automated meeting facilitator will use speech recognition to follow the general flow of the meeting even if not understanding all of the technical content.
- Call Center
Productivity Tools
Develop automation tools to increase the productive of call centers.
- Developing
Games with Speech and Language Technology
Multi-disciplinary teams will develop PC and Video games using speech and language technology. Each team should include at least one designer, author, and programmer. The gme should have play value comparable to best selling commercial games.
