- Extreme Programming in a Research Project
  Many of the principles of Extreme Programming (incremental development, frequent testing) work very well in the environment of an evolving research project. Other principles need to be modifies. Apply appropriate parts of the Extreme Programming philosophy to develop components of a speech and language research system.
- Eat Your Own Cooking
  Each team will develop a speech or language application for their own daily use. They will then use it, with all its faults, to get important work done. They will then fix it and repeat until it is digestible.
