This course covers the basic principles used by leading speech recognition
systems to the level covered in graduate course textbooks.
- Signal Processing for Speech Recognition
This course will cover a
selection of the many choices for signal processing in the first phase or "front
end" of a speech recognition system. Teams will comparing the performance
of several alternative signal processing methods. Teams will also
implement some standard and some novel signal processing methods.

Design and Implementation of Speech Recognition
Systems
This course teaches the essential practical details of advanced speech
recognition systems. It concentrates on techniques and issues that are
usually left out of textbooks and often are not even mentioned in technical
papers.

Extreme Speech™
Recognition Research
This research course will teach new ideas for improved speech recognition
beyond published papers or any existing speech recognition system. This
course may be limited to faculty and mentors until a sufficient number of
students have completed pre-requisite courses.
- Speech Recognition for Faculty and Mentors
This is an advanced course open
only to faculty members and mentors who have successfully mentored at least four
teams.
